Picture in Picture (PiP) is one of the features I’m looking forward to the most in the new version of the Mac operating system, macOS Sierra.PiP displays a small video widow that stays on top of.
In case you haven’t tried it yet, Picture-in-Picture mode is now available on Mac. This feature allows you to multitask on your Mac, allowing you to watch iTunes, YouTube and other Videos while working on a document, Chatting with someone or using any other App.
Picture-in-Picture Mode On Mac
As the name suggests, the Picture-in-Picture Mode (PiP) displays a small window on the screen of your Mac that plays videos and stays on top of the screen at all the times, while you are simultaneously engaged in some other activity on your Mac.
For example, you can read articles on BBC website with a YouTube Video playing on the corner of your screen in Picture-in-Picture Mode (See image below).
The Picture-in-picture mode video won’t get buried or switch OFF, even when you open new tabs on Safari or switch to different apps. The PIP Video will always stay on top of your screen, allowing you to watch Videos while you are trying to get some work done.
Enable Picture-in-Picture On Mac
The Picture-in-Picture Mode works on a Mac running MacOS Sierra. Hence, you will first need to download MacOS Sierra on your Mac and follow the steps below.
1. Open the Safari browser on your Mac running macOS Sierra and go to YouTube.com.
2. Next, right click on the YouTube Video that you want to watch in PiP Mode. You will see a Menu Appearing on the screen (See image below).

3. Ignore the first Menu and Right click again (anywhere on the video) to reveal a second Menu.
4. From the second Menu, click on Enter Picture-in-Picture option (See image below).
5. The YouTube Video will immediately get detached and you will see it on the Screen of your Mac in PiP Mode (See image below).
While the YouTube video is in PiP Mode, you can drag the Video to any corner of the screen and resize the Video to any size that suits you.
Mac Picture Edit
With the Video playing in PiP Mode, you can browse the internet by opening another tab on Safari, work on a document or use any other app. Download q for mac.
Disable PiP Mode
Mac os 9 for pc. In case you want to watch the Video in regular Mode on YouTube, you can easily disable the PiP Mode by hovering your mouse over the Video and clicking on the little Arrow icon that you will see at the bottom of the Video (See image below)

To close the Video in PiP Mode, hover your mouse over the Video and click on the “X” icon located at the top left corner of the Video (See image above).
